SPEND project Intervention in Doragala village, a small isolated village hamlet in the hill country, to ease the poor farmers from water scarcity by promoting rain and stream water storage for irrigation provedenhanced land productivity. A relatively small investment on drought mitigation has yielded not only immense economic benefits to hundreds of farmer families but also social recognition to them. The village, once isolated from rest of the world, now a business center led by a business group with hundreds of farmer entrepreneurs as its active members.
