RuMEPP is looking for a Communications Assistant.

In the final year of RuMEPP implementation, documentation of various experiences is an essential input to assess the outcomes / impact of Programme assistance in the 19 target provinces. As part of the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) process, there is a need to capture different milestones, innovations and lessons learned in order to develop a comprehensive account of RuMEPP implementation experiences in alleviating poverty through microenterprise development.

RuMEPP shall engage the services of a communications assistant to assist the Programme Management Unit (PMU) in complying with reportorial requirements and in developing multimedia documentation / knowledge products.


1. Report to the Programme Manager of the Rural Micro Enterprise Promotion

Programme (RuMEPP);

2. Assist the M&E Specialist in the preparation of Programme reports and other special reports required from RuMEPP;

3. Prepare articles on Programme events / activities / accomplishments for

dissemination to various implementation partners and stakeholders;

4. Generate & consolidate data from field offices to develop knowledge products that

will capture implementation milestones and success stories

5. Organize the photo documentation and other multimedia materials pertaining to

RuMEPP activities

6. Establish a library of knowledge materials funded by or produced under the project;

7. Coordinate with the DTI Regional / Provincial Units and other organizations involved

in the implementation of the Programme on Knowledge Management concerns; and

8. Perform other duties and functions that may be assigned by the Programme





§Academic degree in development communication or any related field in mass


§With relevant experience in development work under a similar capacity (familiarity with

community development projects an advantage)

§Excellent documentation, communication (technical / creative writing), & presentation

skills; and

§Proficient in computer and internet skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint,

Outlook, Excel, Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat Pro) or other pertinent communication software



§Period of assignment is 90 days, subject to satisfactory completion and delivery of




§The successful candidate will commence assignment as soon as possible following

the completion of the procurement process
