SPPAP - Commitment to Women

Display Date: 3/30/16

Gender equality and women empowerment are the two important objectives of the SPPAP. A comprehensive Gender Policy & Gender Action Plan has been developed and all the investments are guided by the Plan. To appreciate the women's participation in the project and to boost their confidence, the project organizes events, seminars etc. and shares the reports with IFAD on regular intervals. Project also celebrates international days relating to women regularly. Special space is allocated for the women in its newsletters,  quarterly/annually reports and social media as well as on website of the SPPAP.

Recently SPPAP organized a International Women's Day with the coordination of Implementing Partners including NRSP. A large number of members of rural women groups working with the SPPAP participated in the seminar and shared their issues, experiences and lessons learned. This seminar was 2nd in SPPAP’s drive to celebrate International Women's Day with the aim to provide a plateform to the rural poor women.  SPPAP’s continued commitment to the cause of women empowerment is being appreciated by the local government and the civil society.
