A Technical Start-up workshop was organized by ICO for the newly started project - Livestock and Access to Markets Project (LAMP), in Lahore, provincial capital of the Punjab, Pakistan during 14 & 15 March 2016.
Mr. Nasim Sadiq, Secretary Livestck & Dairy Development Deaprtment, Govt of the Punjab, Lahore inaugurated the workshop. Mr. Qaim Shah, Senior Country Programme Officer, IFAD Pakistan led the technical team of IFAD. Senior officials of the Lead Executing Agency, Project Management and district official, and the Social Mobilization Partner (NRSP) attended the workshop.
The workshop aimed to provide orientation on various aspects of the project including Project management, Financial management, Procurement, community mobilisation, and M&E.
The overall goal of the project is to contribute to rural growth and poverty reduction in rural Punjab while the development objective is to enhance the livelihoods of 112,500 poor households in the districts of Mianwali, Khushab, Bhakkar and Layyah. LAMP will target male and female smallholder farmers who own livestock, and whose income, nutritional security and safety-net primarily depend on livestock.
