This sub-regional wkp is in preparation of the IFAD 2nd Global Meeting of Indigenous Peoples' Forum (IPF) that will take place in Rome, Feb 2015.
In response to request made during the 1st Global IPF meeting in 2013, this meeting has been organised to ensure that Pacific indigenous commuities are fully represented and given an opportunity to link, discuss and strategise.
Participants include: IFAD project directors, NGOs, reserach centers, universities and private sector representatives.
During this event, participants will contribute to the following:
- Finalise a Strategy with clear recommendations on how IFAD can support Indigenous food systems and sustainable livelihoods in the Pacific region.
- Agree on specific indicators on Indigenous Food Systems and Sustainable Livelihoods to be adopted by IFAD-funded projects.
- Select 2 indigenous peoples' representatives from the Pacific who will attend the 2nd Global Meeting of IPs’ Forum in Rome.
