Sustainable Natural Resources Management and Productivity Enhancement Project (SNRMPEP) was initiated in 2009 with a period of 6 years. The project was designed to promote natural resources management and transform subsistence agriculture to sustainable commercial agriculture. The part 1 of the film indicates main objectives of the project.

Link farmers to market - Smallholder Agricultural-market Development in the Uplands of Lao PDR
SADU, the Smallholder Agricultural-market Development in the Uplands of Lao PDR, was funded by the donor agency Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation (SDC), and implemented by International Centre for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) in a research-for-development partnership with agencies within the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF). The key MAF partner at national level was the Agriculture and Forestry Policy Research Centre (AFPRC) of the National Agriculture and Forestry Research Institute (NAFRI). The project operated in partnership with the National Agriculture and Forestry Extension Service (NAFES), and Provincial Agriculture and Forestry Offices (PAFO) of Xieng Khouang and Luang Prabang provinces, and seven District Agriculture and Forestry Offices (DAFO). The Project Development Goal of SADU III was: "To improve livelihoods of marginalized smallholder farming households, especially ethnic minority groups, women and the poor, in upland areas of Northern Laos through increased market chain efficiency".
Lao entry for the ASEAN Environmentally Sustainable Development Film Festival 2011
The ASEAN Environmentally Sustainable Development Film Festival 2011 - “Change the Climate Change” - called for film makers in the region to make short movies on this theme. The films were made by the filmmakers themselves with no financial assistance from ASEAN! If you have time to watch only one please see the one from Lao PDR – it’s brilliant!
