Zareen Yak Canal inaugurated in Parwan Province:

Community, Livestock and Agriculture Project of MAIL with funds from IFAD, improved, rehabilitated and inaugurated Zareen Irrigation Canal with length of 1529M in Nahr-e-Zareen village, center of Parwan province. The total length of this canal is 2957M.

The canal covers 163.5 hectares irrigation land, 456 households and prevents water wastage around 15 – 20% during the length of canal.


The construction work of this canal was started in 01/08/2016 and ended in 01/03/2018.


Zareen Yak canal was inaugurated on 28/03/2018 by local government authorities and community council’s representatives. It was surrendered to people for use.

At the end, villagers thanked the CLAP project, MAIL and the representatives for their efforts and coordination during the work. They further requested more supports of the project to their village and people.
