Alastair Smith talks about his model for accelerated learning, and the importance of shifting our mindset from a performance/regurgitation model towards one where true learning is valued. His emphasis is more on learning in children and schools, but I think that the core messages also hold true for adults, and could have powerful impacts on the way we plan and implement workshops, seminars and conferences. From a farm in rural Wales, David & Clare Hieatt organise the 'Do Lectures' - where people who 'Do' thinks talk about them, to inspire the rest of us.
