The UN General Assemby Resolution 65/2 provides a review of the Mauritius Strategy for the Further Implementation of the Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States (MSI+5).
It recognises SIDS governments' commitment in mainstreaming sustainable development principles into national development strategies. It calls for mobilising further resources and giving a greater space to SIDS in the post 2015 development agenda. It finally identifies main challenges including energy dependency, misuse of fisheries resources, climate chnage and trade. It recommends the international community to address institutional shortcomings and constraints to the implemantaion of the Mauritius Strategy and BPOA.
