LIST OF PANELISTS

Local champions are people with valuable knowledge and abilities or skills in their environment, which is recognized by their community or organization as outstanding for the capacity to lead processes of change with positive impacts in the territories they live in. Local champions hold a wide range of technical-empirical know how as a result of years of experience. Their skills comprise “niche” areas of expertise that are complementary to the traditional extension services system, delivering culturally appropriated training and technical assistance based on the integration of practical knowledge with on-field experimented innovations. PROCASUR has trained over 1.000 local champions as knowledge service providers.

a) how to increase service providers coverage in different thematic areas (climate change, natural resources management, rural entrepreneurship,...);
b) how to improve sustainable investments in rural development;
c) how to capitalize on lessons and good practices at local level.
