BREAKING NEWS: IFAD-Universities Partnership Programme is Now Effective

Display Date: 3/2/16

IFAD has recently approved a grant aimed at linking university students to IFAD projects and partners titled IFAD-Universities Win-Win Partnership: Engaging students with IFAD-supported operations and IFAD partners'. The grant is now effective and that the Global Association of Masters in Development Practice (http://mdpglobal.org/network) is the recipient, selected through a competitive process.

From this moment on you are kindly invited to submit your research requests under four main thematic areas that turned out to be the most 'voted' by the 87 IFAD projects that responded to a survey we launched prior to designing the grant. The eligible thematic areas are:

-          Agriculture and veterinary studies

-          Environmental studies and Natural Resource Management

-          Economic and financial studies

-          Development studies

The description of your research request should not exceed 500 words and can be sent through this online platform http://mdpglobal.submittable.com/submit/b109e638-6684-45ed-83c9-d09a5046549b

Examples of research requests include market analysis, value chain analysis, socio-economic studies, land tenure studies, M&E, policy studies, etc.

Students will be able to see your projects online and apply by sending their research applications to respond to your research requests. The MDPs Secretariat will then select the three best students and will send you their shortlisted candidate. You will be then able to select your preferred candidate. After this selection you, the selected student and his/her academic supervisor will be in touch to discuss the details of the research, both in terms of content and logistics.
